A Powerful Method to Improve Your Writing.
In 2006 I read “The Artists Way”. One of the best ideas in the book is the morning pages. This idea has helped me build a habit of writing over the years. Let me explain how.
The Morning Pages are a simple. Sit down with a pen and paper and start writing three pages of freeform. You can change the number of pages to more or less. The purpose is to let ideas flow with freedom. Your writing doesn’t need a cohesive idea or story. The point is to get into the habit of writing.
There are now countless journals, filled with long form handwriting, on my bookshelf. Some are filled with stories; others are random thoughts and feelings stuck in a moment of time. And it is my way of thinking.
The Morning pages are a way to write and clear your mind so you CAN get to work with purpose.
